Midwife

“Just as a women’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.”   ~Virginia Di Orio

After the birth of my first two children, I was called to become a Midwife. This lead me and my family to New Zealand where I graduated from Otago Polytechnic in 2003 with a Bachelor of Midwifery. Returning to Prince George in 2004 where I had the privilege of providing Midwifery care for over a decade.

I have recently returned to practice and am excited to be back supporting expecting families as they begin the lifechanging journey of pregnancy, birth and parenthood. I serve the Prince George and outlying areas of Northern BC, with hospital privileges at UHNBC.

My passion lies in midwifery, and I deeply value the health and well-being of my clients. I create a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ individuals and strive to provide respectful care to everyone in our community. My approach is built on mutual respect, patience, and understanding.

I provide continuity of care and this is associated with improved outcomes and experiences. Utilizing my clinical skills and understanding, I offer comprehensive maternity care tailored to your unique needs. I believe informed decision-making, personalized support, and trusting relationships are essential for empowering birthing families to have a positive and transformative experience.

I respectfully acknowledge the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh, on whose territory I live, work, and play.
